It's very hard to achieve serenity if it's based on another person's approval. We all go to the grave misunderstood by others,not by God. God is the ultimate realist,he sees things exactly as they are. That should be the pause for taking the high road when judged harshly by man. God is the only judge that matters and he makes all wrongs right in the end. I often have to recite the serenity prayer in my head and out loud when I'm struggling for man's approval. It helps alot,but I haven't perfected it yet. It's definately a lifelong process.
